Hi Everybody,
Just a short note to review what has been going on and what is in the pipe going forward with the Chapter.
- We had 16 people out for breakfast on Sunday! That is a good start, but I know there are some out there lurking that haven’t been out for a while, so why not come for our next breakfast get together. The space restrictions have been removed along with the masks. Pretty much all of us are “senior citizens” and have been vaccinated, so it is time to get out and about.
- We had 8 bikes and 1 car out for the Sunday ride after breakfast. It was an enjoyable ride out to Cascade Falls Regional Park off of Sylvester Road, north of Hatzic Lake. It was a first time visit for many. There was ample parking, but not enough picnic facilities, so we all sat on a log in the bushes overlooking the stream and had a snack with some refreshments. Some of the members returned home via the Mission bridge and a “shortcut” through the Glen Valley and on through Fort Langley before going our separate ways.
- Several members rode out to the Tsawwassen Mills A&W parking lot last Wednesday to have a look at all the sweet cars that show up every Wednesday. We will be riding out again this week to have another look.
- Two new members have joined up since the beginning of the month. Please welcome Marc Leblanc and Wayne Swingle. Both were at breakfast on Sunday and joined us on the ride.
Here is what is on the plate for the next couple of weeks so that you can make some plans to join us:
- Tuesday Evening Coffee and Ride – 5-7:00PM this week (tomorrow) at the McDonalds on Boundary Road and Lougheed. The ride will be determined by the group and is weather dependent.
- Wednesday Evening Show and Shine – 5-7:00PM at Tsawwassen Mills A&W. Come on out, bring a chair and a snack or refreshment. Tons of nice cars to look over and even some bikes!
- Thursday evening Zoom – 7:00PM. Yes, we are still Zooming along with 6-10 members joining in. We chat about anything and everything, not just motorcycle stuff….. email Dave for the link. The Zoom meeting was originally organized to discuss ride options for the following weekend. An update email will be sent out on Friday.
- Saturday and Sunday coffee and ride – 8:00-9:00AM at Mcdonald’s on Boundary and Lougheed. Rides to be determined….
- Tuesday Evening Coffee and Ride – 5-7:00 PM next week at Wendy’s/Time Hortons on Annacis Island.
- Chapter Dinner Meeting – Thursday, July 29th, 6:00PM at the ABC Restaurant, #300 – 100 Schoolhouse, Coquitlam. This will be a trial run to gauge interest in a monthly evening dinner event.
If you have any suggestions for ride ideas, please do not hesitate to send them along. Our members and rides run the full gamut from those that like to smell the roses and plod along enjoying the scenery to those that enjoy a “spirited” ride to a destination that could be many miles away….. Don’t let that discourage you from getting together with some of the members and going your own way. That is why we are here – to facilitate you meeting new people, joining others on rides and having a safe, enjoyable experience.
Until next time, ride safe.
