Weekly Update – a bit late…

Hi Everybody,

Sorry for the late notice, but I have had a busy week both with GWRRA stuff and preparing for a two week road trip for work starting on Monday. Anyway, for those interested, Tuesday Evening coffee meets are still happening. Heinz has been going religiously every week and sometimes he is there by himself – Timmies on Glenlyon Parkway. Lets try to make an effort to go out and have a coffee with Heinz! The location is central to the membership, and there are several food choices and ample parking.

Your district team has been working hard. We now have two ARC’s scheduled. One here in Surrey in April and another in Chilliwack in June (details not quite ironed out yet). The April one is already fully booked. If there are more of you wanting to take advantage of this great warmup to the summer riding season, let us know and we will attempt to schedule another one.

Our Wings In the Cariboo Rally is a go. We will be opening registrations for this July 21-24 event shortly. If you registered and paid for the 2020 or 2021 rally and did not ask for a refund, you are already registered for 2022. You just need to call the Days Inn in 100 Mile House to confirm you still have a reservation for this year, as they were automatically moved forward.

This weekend, we will be riding! The weather man has promised clear skies and a bit warmer weather. Meet at Timmies on Glenlyon Parkway around 9:00 and be ready to ride at 10:00. Ride destination will be decided at that time.

Next weekend is our first officially planned ride of the season. The “Ride For Pie” will be held on Sunday, March 13th. The plan is to ride up the Fraser Canyon (Hwy 1) to Boston Bar (weather permitting) for lunch at the Olde Towne Inn and Chuckwagon Bar and Grill. Word has it that the soup and pies are worth stopping in for…. Unfortunately, Giselle and I will not be able to make this ride as I will still be up in northern BC for work. We will be needing some riders to volunteer to lead and tail the group(s). I am sure there are many capable members that are willing to step up and help.

That’s all for now!
