Hi Everybody,
On Saturday, Giselle and I hosted the chapter team for breakfast and a planning session. After installing Amarjit as our new Assistant Chapter Director, we got down to business and made some plans for the upcoming riding season.
First up is the annual Silent Auction. Kelley Parkes is organizing it and it will be held at the usual place at Taylormotive in North Vancouver on Saturday, February 26th between 9:00AM and Noon. You are all urged to attend and bring whatever you have to donate to help raise some funds for the chapter. We will provide coffee and donuts and after we will head on over to Pemberton Station Pub for lunch if so desired. If the weather is nice, we will ride afterwards.
Next up is the “Ride For Pie”. This year it will take place on Sunday, March 13th. We are riding out to the “Somewhere Else Café” on Highway 1 just north of Hope. Last time we rode out and stopped there, the pie in the café was very good.
On Saturday, April 2nd we will be having our annual Bike Maintenance Day at Taylormotive in North Vancouver. Show up around 9:00AM. If you need to change your oil, replace some brake pads, or do some minor repairs to your bike, this is the day. As usual, Chuck will be making several bays in the shop available for your use. Coffee and donuts will be served with a ride after, weather permitting.
The following week – April 8th evening and April 9th day, we will be holding an Advanced Rider Course (ARC) in Surrey. This is open to the first 12 members who want to take the course. This is the requirement to reach level 2 in the GWRRA Rider Education levels program. Friday evening will be a classroom event that lasts several hours. Saturday will be the range portion – be prepared to spend the better part of the day learning some slow speed maneuvers that will definitely take your riding skills up a notch…. Sign up sheets/registration will be made available shortly.

Don’t forget – February Breakfast Meeting is this coming Saturday, Feb 19th at the ABC Restaurant on Schoolhouse Rd, in Coquitlam. Breakfast at 9:00. Ride to follow if weather permits.
